For preventive purposes,Sumatriptan can’t be taken.
After a migraine attack, treatment should be started as soon as possible. Recommended initial dosage is 50(mg).Tablet is taken orally, drinking water. The tablet should be swallowed whole. In acute attacks, 50(mg)is prescribed, in some cases, an increased dose 100( mg) is possible. If the symptoms of migraine remain after taking the first dosage of Sumatriptan, do not take the second dosage to eliminate the same migraine attack. To eliminate the next migraine attacks (after a transient improvement) a second dosage may be taken at least 2 hours after the first dosage. The maximum daily dosage is 300(mg) in 24-hour period.
