(Ethylmethylhydroxypyridine succinate) is an antioxidant medication providing anticonvulsant, nootropic and antihypoxic action. The treatment regimen is selected individually.
Starting dosage : 50-100mg 1-3 times/day which is gradually increased until the desired therapeutic effect is reached. Neurox may be given as a slow intravenous injection - 5-7 minutes, or as an intravenous drip - 40-60 drops/min. Maximum daily dose is 800mg.
Acute cerebrovascular accident (in the complex therapy): IV 200-300mg/day for the first 2-4 days, after then - IM 100mg 3 times/day. Length of therapy: 10-14 days.
Discirculatory encephalopathy: IV 100mg 2-3 times/day for 14 days, after then - IM 100mg/day for the next 14 days.
Neurocirculatory dystonia and neurosis and neurotic states: IM 50-400mg/day for 14 days.
Withdrawal symptoms of alcoholism: IM 100-200mg 2-3 times/day.
Mild cognitive disorders: IM 100-300mg/day for 14-30 days.
Acute liver and/or kidney failure; pregnancy; lactation; childhood, allergic diseases in history.
Ingestion: nausea, dry mouth, diarrhea, drowsiness, allergic reactions. With parenteral administration (especially in/jet): dryness, "metal" taste in the mouth, the feeling of "spilling heat" throughout the body, an unpleasant smell, tickling in the throat and discomfort in the chest, a feeling of lack of air (usually associated with an excessively high rate of introduction and are short-term); with prolonged use - nausea, flatulence; sleep disorders (drowsiness or sleep disturbance).
